Bama Custom Fabric
Roll TIDe!
For the ultimate 'Bama fan, I created custom embroidered University of Alabama fabric. I embroidered the University of Alabama logo on Red Kona cotton. I first converted the logo into stitches, made some adjustments to stitch length, and then ran some tests to find the right size. I then marked the fabric with a grid pattern, and stitched an A on alternating marks on the fabric.

Two years later, my dad needs a new pair of Bama shorts. He wore them so often that they show lots of wear and a tears at the pockets. So I dug up the Bama A embroidery file, made a trip to the fabric store, purchased three yards of dark red Kona cotton, and light gray threads. Again, I tested the fabric and threads until I had it right. I drew the grid on the fabric with chalk, and then finally, embroidered the little A's at each point on the grid.
I traced the shorts pattern on teh fabric and I am now ready to sew the shorts!
